Beech is the highest town in the eastern U.S., so the color turns early and the air goes crisp before anywhere else. Take in the long-range views as the ridges shift to gold and red, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway at its peak, and warm up by a real wood fire at night. Sugar Mountain's Oktoberfest and Banner Elk's Woolly Worm Festival are both a short drive.
The Space — An open kitchen, living, and dining area with vaulted ceilings and big windows that pull the view inside. A large TV in the living room, a wood-burning fireplace, and comfortable seating make the main level the natural gathering spot. Air conditioning in every room — a genuine comfort upgrade, and uncommon on this mountain.
Sleeping for nine, across four spaces:
Primary bedroom (main level) — king bed, with direct deck access to step out to the view.
Guest bedroom 1 — two twin beds, also with direct deck access.
Guest bedroom 2 — two twin beds.
Loft — a full bed and a twin, plus a convenient half bath.
Two full bathrooms downstairs, one half bath in the loft.
The twin-heavy layout is genuinely flexible — great for families with kids, friend groups, or multiple couples who want their own space.
The Outdoors — A large deck built for the view, with room to dine, relax, and take in the long-range ridges. Morning coffee and evening air, with the mountains doing all the work.
Getting Around & Things to Know — Beech Mountain roads climb; from December through March we recommend AWD or 4WD, and it's smart to be prepared for early snow at this elevation. Wood-burning fireplace (guests provide their own firewood, or ask us). Check-in 4:00 PM, check-out 10:00 AM.
